Apple Orchards For Deer

Tips for productive growth

Apple orchards are extraordinary magnets for whitetailed deer, but simply planting a tree in the ground and walking away can leave you severely disappointed with the results through the upcoming years. This episode will touch on some of the topics you'll want to focus on to ensure your apple trees bear fruit for your family and wildlife under an approach we like to call, Fruitless for Five. Hopefully you'll pick up a few tips along the way. Be sure to check back for the next episode in this series which will focus strictly on the negative pressures which affect fruit orchards such as woodborers and related pests, disease management and prevention, rodent and deer inflicted damage, and much more.

In this episode,  we'll take you to one of our soybean food plots that happened to be at a critical point. We'll show you what you'll need and where to source the materials required to protect any food plot that you'd like to keep in your back pocket until hunting season.

As we share this information, we’ll look to those same individuals for not just their comments and questions, but also their suggestions, ideas and areas of concern that they have on various topics. We’ll accomplish this through our discussion forum which will allow the open exchange of dialogue, thereby promoting the further advancement of NCPA Outdoors mission.
